Overview

What is Strapi?

Strapi is the leading open-source headless CMS: editors get a clean admin panel to manage content, and your sites and apps pull that content through an auto-generated API. One content hub can feed a website, a mobile app and whatever your AI builder generates next.

Hosted headless CMS platforms meter everything — seats, entries, locales, API calls — and the bill climbs exactly as your content grows. Self-hosted Strapi doesn't meter: unlimited content types, entries and editors, on a database you own.

On livemy.app you pick the Strapi template, click deploy, and the admin panel is live with SSL in about two minutes. Define your first content type, and your API is ready for whatever front end you're building.

Why deploy here

Same app, no meter running

These tools are free and open source. What you normally pay for is someone else's server — and their pricing page.

No entry or seat limits

Hosted headless CMS bills per seat, per entry, per locale. Self-hosted Strapi doesn't count any of them — model and publish freely.

Content your apps can reach

Every content type becomes an API automatically — the natural content backend for AI-built sites that need real data behind them.

No maintenance rabbit hole

SSL, storage and redeploys are handled for you. New Strapi release? One click and you're on it — no server to log into.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes

01

Pick the Strapi template

Choose it from the gallery. Nothing to download, nothing to configure — the template already knows how Strapi should run.

02

Click deploy

livemy.app builds it and gives you a live URL with SSL. Storage is attached automatically, so your data survives every restart.

03

Make it yours

Connect a custom domain and redeploy anytime in one click — from the dashboard, or triggered over MCP by the AI tool you already use.

FAQ

Self-hosting Strapi, answered

How much does it cost to self-host Strapi?
Free to try — the Free plan is $0 and gives you one project on a livemy.site subdomain. Maker is $10/mo and adds a custom domain, 10 GB and a 99.5% uptime SLA; Pro is $25/mo. Daily backups are a $5/mo add-on. No per-seat, per-entry or API-call fees.
What's a headless CMS, in plain terms?
A content admin without a fixed website attached. Editors write and organise content in Strapi's panel; any site or app then fetches it over an API and displays it however it likes. One content source, many front ends.
Can my AI-built app use Strapi as its backend?
Yes — that's a natural pairing. Tell your AI builder to fetch content from your Strapi API URL, and editors manage the words and images without touching the app's code.
Is self-hosted Strapi hard to maintain?
Not here. The template ships with the database and free SSL already wired up. When a new Strapi version lands you click redeploy in the dashboard — or trigger it over MCP from your AI tool. There's no server to patch and nothing to install on your computer.
