Overview

What is Plausible?

Plausible is an open-source web analytics tool built as the simple, privacy-first answer to Google Analytics. One lightweight script, one clean dashboard: visitors, sources, top pages, goals. No cookies, no personal data collection — which for most sites means no cookie banner and no GDPR headache at all.

The hosted version bills by pageviews, so a traffic spike — the best thing that can happen to your site — moves you into a bigger plan. Self-hosted Plausible has no pageview meter: track one site or twenty, count every visit, and the price stays the price of the server.

Normally self-hosting it means Docker, a Postgres database and an SSL certificate before you see a single chart. On livemy.app you pick the Plausible template, click deploy, and your analytics dashboard is live in about two minutes — with your traffic data stored on your own server, not in an ad-tech company's warehouse.

Why deploy here

Same app, no meter running

These tools are free and open source. What you normally pay for is someone else's server — and their pricing page.

No pageview caps

Hosted analytics bills by traffic — your best month is your most expensive one. Self-hosted Plausible counts every visit on one flat price.

Your visitors' data stays yours

Traffic data lives in your own database, not in an ad-tech pipeline. No cookies, no cross-site tracking — for most sites, no cookie banner either.

No maintenance rabbit hole

SSL, storage and redeploys are handled for you. New Plausible release? One click and you're on it — no server to log into.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes

01

Pick the Plausible template

Choose it from the gallery. Nothing to download, nothing to configure — the template already knows how Plausible should run.

02

Click deploy

livemy.app builds it and gives you a live URL with SSL. Storage is attached automatically, so your data survives every restart.

03

Make it yours

Connect a custom domain and redeploy anytime in one click — from the dashboard, or triggered over MCP by the AI tool you already use.

FAQ

Self-hosting Plausible, answered

How much does it cost to self-host Plausible?
Free to try — the Free plan is $0 and gives you one project on a livemy.site subdomain. Maker is $10/mo and adds a custom domain, 10 GB and a 99.5% uptime SLA; Pro is $25/mo. Daily backups are a $5/mo add-on. No plan charges by pageviews or number of sites.
Is self-hosted Plausible hard to maintain?
Not here. The template ships with the database and free SSL already wired up. When a new Plausible version lands you click redeploy in the dashboard — or trigger it over MCP from your AI tool. There's no server to patch and nothing to install on your computer.
Can I put the dashboard on my own domain?
Yes, on Maker ($10/mo) and above. Point your domain at the project and livemy.app issues the certificate for you. On the Free plan your dashboard lives on a livemy.site subdomain — SSL is included either way.
Do I still need a cookie banner with Plausible?
For the analytics itself — usually no. Plausible works without cookies and doesn't collect personal data, which is exactly why sites switch to it from Google Analytics. If other parts of your site set tracking cookies, those still need consent as usual.
