Overview

What is Documenso?

Documenso is the open-source way to get documents signed: upload a PDF, place signature fields, send a link, and track who signed when. Templates for recurring paperwork, multiple signers, audit trails and certificates — the core of DocuSign without the enterprise sales motion.

E-signature vendors bill per user and cap how many envelopes you can send — pricing designed for procurement departments, not for a founder sending five contracts a month. Self-hosted Documenso has no envelope counter: send one document or a thousand, same flat price.

There's a quieter reason to self-host too: contracts are some of the most sensitive files a business touches. On livemy.app the whole signing flow — documents, signers, audit logs — runs on your own server, deployed from the template in about two minutes with SSL included.

Why deploy here

Same app, no meter running

These tools are free and open source. What you normally pay for is someone else's server — and their pricing page.

Unlimited documents

No envelope caps, no per-user tiers — send one contract or a thousand on the same flat price. The meter simply isn't there.

Contracts stay on your server

Agreements, signer details and audit trails live in your own database — not in a signing vendor's cloud alongside everyone else's paperwork.

No maintenance rabbit hole

SSL, storage and redeploys are handled for you. New Documenso release? One click and you're on it — no server to log into.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes

01

Pick the Documenso template

Choose it from the gallery. Nothing to download, nothing to configure — the template already knows how Documenso should run.

02

Click deploy

livemy.app builds it and gives you a live URL with SSL. Storage is attached automatically, so your data survives every restart.

03

Make it yours

Connect a custom domain and redeploy anytime in one click — from the dashboard, or triggered over MCP by the AI tool you already use.

FAQ

Self-hosting Documenso, answered

How much does it cost to self-host Documenso?
Free to try — the Free plan is $0 and gives you one project on a livemy.site subdomain. Maker is $10/mo and adds a custom domain, 10 GB and a 99.5% uptime SLA; Pro is $25/mo. Daily backups are a $5/mo add-on. No per-envelope or per-user fees.
Are signatures from a self-hosted Documenso legally valid?
Documenso implements standard e-signature practice — signer identification, timestamps and audit certificates — the same mechanics hosted vendors rely on. Whether an e-signature fits a specific document type depends on your jurisdiction, so for high-stakes contracts check the rules that apply to you.
Can I send signing links from my own domain?
Yes, on Maker ($10/mo) and above — sign.yourcompany.com looks a lot better on a contract than a vendor link. Point your domain at the project and livemy.app issues the certificate for you.
Is self-hosted Documenso hard to maintain?
Not here. The template ships with the database and free SSL already wired up. When a new Documenso version lands you click redeploy in the dashboard — or trigger it over MCP from your AI tool. There's no server to patch and nothing to install on your computer.
