What is Immich?
Immich is the open-source answer to Google Photos — and the most-starred self-hosted app of its generation. Native iPhone and Android apps back up your camera roll automatically; the web app gives you a timeline, albums, sharing, face grouping and search that finds "beach sunset" in your own library.
The hosted-photos deal is a subscription that only ever grows: more photos, bigger plan, forever — and the library itself lives on someone else's servers, ranked and scanned on their terms. Immich flips it: your photos sit in storage you control, and the software is free.
On livemy.app you pick the Immich template, click deploy, and your photo server is live with SSL in about two minutes. Install the mobile app, point it at your URL, and the camera roll starts backing up to a server that answers only to you.
