Overview

What is Immich?

Immich is the open-source answer to Google Photos — and the most-starred self-hosted app of its generation. Native iPhone and Android apps back up your camera roll automatically; the web app gives you a timeline, albums, sharing, face grouping and search that finds "beach sunset" in your own library.

The hosted-photos deal is a subscription that only ever grows: more photos, bigger plan, forever — and the library itself lives on someone else's servers, ranked and scanned on their terms. Immich flips it: your photos sit in storage you control, and the software is free.

On livemy.app you pick the Immich template, click deploy, and your photo server is live with SSL in about two minutes. Install the mobile app, point it at your URL, and the camera roll starts backing up to a server that answers only to you.

Why deploy here

Same app, no meter running

These tools are free and open source. What you normally pay for is someone else's server — and their pricing page.

Your photos, your storage

The library lives on your server — not scanned, not ranked, not held behind a subscription. Delete your account anywhere else; your photos stay put.

Real mobile backup

Native iOS and Android apps upload your camera roll automatically in the background — the part that makes leaving Google Photos actually stick.

No maintenance rabbit hole

SSL, storage and redeploys are handled for you. New Immich release? One click and you're on it — no server to log into.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes

01

Pick the Immich template

Choose it from the gallery. Nothing to download, nothing to configure — the template already knows how Immich should run.

02

Click deploy

livemy.app builds it and gives you a live URL with SSL. Storage is attached automatically, so your data survives every restart.

03

Make it yours

Connect a custom domain and redeploy anytime in one click — from the dashboard, or triggered over MCP by the AI tool you already use.

FAQ

Self-hosting Immich, answered

How much does it cost to self-host Immich?
Free to try — the Free plan is $0 on a livemy.site subdomain. Maker is $10/mo with 10 GB of storage; Pro is $25/mo with 50 GB. For a big library add storage at $1/GB on Maker or $0.50/GB on Pro, and the $5/mo backups add-on is worth it for photos.
Is 10 GB enough for my photo library?
It's a comfortable start — roughly a few thousand phone photos. Growing past it doesn't mean a new plan: extra storage is $1/GB on Maker and $0.50/GB on Pro, so a 100 GB library on Pro is $25 + $25 in storage — still flat and predictable.
Does the mobile backup really work like Google Photos?
Yes — Immich's own iOS and Android apps do automatic background backup of your camera roll to your server, with albums, favourites and search in the same app. You point them at your livemy.app URL once and forget about it.
Is self-hosted Immich hard to maintain?
Not here. The template ships with the database, storage and free SSL already wired up. When a new Immich version lands you click redeploy in the dashboard — or trigger it over MCP from your AI tool. There's no server to patch and nothing to install on your computer.
